Dine out and help out with DineSmart

13 September 2011 No Comment

Some of Australia’s best restaurants have already signed on for the 2011 DineSmart campaign running from November 14th to December 24th,2011.

Longrain Melbourne, Cutler and Co, Golden Fields, Maze and Maze Grill, and Paladarr Thai Issan were all awarded hats in the recent Age Good Food Guide in Victoria.  In Sydney, Four In Hand Dining, Longrain Sydney, Otto Ristorante, Sake and Universal were all hat recipients in NSW.  These restaurants have signed on to lead the 2011 DineSmart campaign and encourage others to join up and get involved now.

From November 14th to December 24th, 2011, dining venues across regional and metropolitan Australia will collect $2 per table to aid grass roots homeless projects close to their venues.

CEO AdamRobinson has applauded these industry leaders, “the projects that we support are those that don’t have the time or the resources to fundraise, and work with some of Australia’s most marginalised people. Every dollar, 100%, donated by diners is granted to organisations who provide critical services, emergency aid and projects promoting social inclusion, empowerment and sustainable change.”  He continued, “Having highly recognised venues as part of our DineSmart team encourages others to sign up and take part in this program.”

“DineSmart is such a worthwhile cause which has already helped thousands of Australians” stated Sarah Wilson, StreetSmart Ambassador. “People don’t have to go out of their way – simply find and eat at participating restaurants and give a little extra at the end of their meal to support fellow Australians. The idea is so simple, yet so effective – who wouldn’t want to feel good at the end of a meal!’

This is such a good cause that eatdrink.com.au are donating their services to help promote this event.  So dine out, and help out.  How can you help?  Find more information at visit: www.streetsmartaustralia.org/dinesmart
